There are lots of different types of tours or classes at the library:

Group tour of the library outlining basic library services:

These can be scheduled as few as two days in advance for mid-week tours, during standard business hours. Please allow at least one week of planning for tours outside business hours to ensure adequate staff is on hand to guide your group. In your request, please include the type of group, number of attendees (number of teachers if applicable), any special requests or interests, and contact information. Call us at 210-207-2500 or fill out the question form at http://ask.mysapl.org.

Library instruction class, aka How to do research at the library:

First, check our calendar to see if we have a regularly scheduled class coming up. We'd love to cater a class to your needs! Please allow at least a week of planning for these classes. We like to bring research groups into our training room, so we may need to work out a mutually available date and time. In your request, please include the type of group, the research assignment, number of students, number of teachers, any special requests, and contact information. Call us at 210-207-2500 or fill out the question form at http://ask.mysapl.org.

Individual tour of the library:

We love talking about the library! In fact, we may be providing a tour when you're visiting. Check our calendar. You are also welcome to visit the reference desk on each floor to ask about the art, architecture, and the services available on that floor. Check out our Guide to Art at the Library to learn more about each piece and artist. If you'd like to request a special tour, call ahead. These are easy to accommodate during mid-week business hours, but we may need advanced notice outside those hours. Call us at 210-207-2500 or fill out the question form at http://ask.mysapl.org.
